Getting Started
Create your first project
A project is one deal or one programme. Charters, work plans, RAID, reports and every export hang off it, so it is the first thing you make.
A project is the container for one deal or one programme. Nothing else in the platform can be created until one exists.
Who can create one
Owners, Admins and Integration Leads. Team Members, Observers and the portfolio roles can work inside a project but cannot open a new one. If you cannot see New Project, that is why; ask an Owner or Admin.
Creating it
- Open Projects and choose New Project.
- Name it as it should read in a report header. The name appears on generated decks.
- Choose the project type. This is the one choice that is awkward to revisit: it fixes the phase vocabulary that the Charter, the work plans and the Roadmap all resolve against. See Understanding project types before you pick.
- Set the key dates. Signing and completion for a deal; start and end for a programme.
- Choose Create Project.
What you get
An empty project with its required phases already in place, dated from what you entered. For an integration these are Pre-Close, Day 1 and First 30 Days; other types get their own equivalent band. Required phases can be re-dated freely but not renamed or deleted, because the name is what everything else points at.
Where to go next
The usual order is Strategic Direction, then Workstream Charters, then work plans, then the Roadmap that derives from them. Nothing enforces that order. If your deal is already running and you have a plan in a spreadsheet, start at Import from CSV instead and work backwards.
On a free trial
A trial includes one active project and one seat, and every feature works inside it. Generated downloads such as decks, packs and workbooks need a plan; your own uploaded documents and your data export are never held back.
