“Where does the synergy number actually come from?”
The usual answer is a spreadsheet nobody owns and a number nobody can source. This is what the platform does instead.
- Provenance
- The value bridge — in beta — runs from entry equity to exit equity and shows where value was created or destroyed, segment by segment, rather than presenting a single total to be taken on trust.
- Traceability
- Each segment of the bridge — in beta — links to the work plan tasks meant to deliver it. A synergy claim has an operational parent, so “who is actually doing this and by when” has an answer on the same screen.
- Phasing
- Initiatives carry their own timing, so run-rate and one-off effects are separated rather than summed into a figure that only works in year three.
- One number
- The figure in the board pack is generated from the same project data as the figure in the model. There is no re-keying step between them, which is where the two normally diverge.
- Your existing tracker
- Synergy tracking, work plans and risk registers import from Excel or CSV, so the starting position is what you already have rather than a blank sheet.
