Buy and Build

Every deal on the platform. One value creation plan.

When an integration is completed, the project isn't closed down. It joins the Buy and Build that carries the platform forward, with its record kept and its earnout still running.

  1. 0:00When the deal is done

When the integration is completed, the project isn't closed down. It joins the Buy and Build that carries the platform forward.

  2. 0:10Choose the Buy and Build

Choose the Buy and Build it belongs to. Halligan & Petersen already holds the merger and the Westline deal.

  3. 0:18Nothing moves

Nothing changes. The deal keeps its work plan, risks, meetings and documents where they are, read-only, and the addition is recorded in both projects' audit logs.

  4. 0:31One value plan

The Buy and Build now lists every deal in it, and the value creation work carries on in one place.

  5. 0:40History as it was left

Open any deal and its work is there exactly as it was left, with a link back to the Buy and Build.

  6. 0:48The earnout keeps running

The deal's earnout keeps running. The open months still take new figures, so at settlement, this is a record that you can rely on.

How a deal joins a Buy and Build

Four steps, starting from the finished integration's settings.

  1. 1

    Choose the Buy and Build

Choose a new Buy and Build, or one that already holds other deals. A Buy and Build is a value creation project.

  2. 2

    Confirm

Nothing moves. The deal keeps its work plan, risks, meetings and documents where they are, read-only, and the addition is recorded in both projects' audit logs.

  3. 3

    One list of deals

The Buy and Build lists every deal in it, each linked to its own pages, and the value creation work carries on in one place.

  4. 4

    The earnout keeps running

Each deal's Earnout Ledger (BETA) stays live. Its open periods still take new figures and corrections, and are closed period by period.

One platform, three deals, one value creation plan

How a Buy and Build adds deals to one plan over time. Each deal's earnout is still tracked after it is added.

  1. Period 1

    Two integrations under way

    Integrations

    • Deal A: integration under way
    • Deal B: integration under way

    Value creation plan

    Not created yet

    Earnouts tracked: A, B

  2. Period 2

Deals A and B added to a new Buy and Build; Deal C's integration starts

    Integrations

    • Deal A: added, kept as read-only history
    • Deal B: added, kept as read-only history
    • Deal C: integration under way

    Value creation plan

Created, with the platform's LBO model feeding its value bridge

    Value bridgeBETA

    Earnouts tracked: A, B, C

  3. Period 3

Deal C added to the same Buy and Build

    Integrations

    • Deal A: added, kept as read-only history
    • Deal B: added, kept as read-only history
    • Deal C: added, kept as read-only history

    Value creation plan

The same plan: deals A, B and C added, its LBO model still feeding its value bridge

    Value bridgeBETA

    Earnouts tracked: A, B, C

Adding a deal to a Buy and Build links it to the plan and keeps its record. It does not merge a deal's figures into the plan's value bridge. If the plan and its deals are archived, an open earnout keeps running until it is settled.

Before you add a deal

Who can add a deal: the owner of both projects, or an account owner or admin.

Only one deal becoming the plan? Continue the integration as its value creation plan instead.

What BETA means on this page

Everything marked BETA works today. Each one leaves BETA when the condition below is met.
